Mhluzi Stunned by United

Things took a turn for better in the past three games of Mbombela united; the team now look back to their struggle of goals and lack of form as past experience which had groom and made them stronger. United took on Mhluzi Black Rangers FC over the weekend at Kanyamazane stadium and showed them flames after a heart breaking 3-0. United only conceded 1 goal in their past three games and scoring 11 which clearly signify improvement compared to their other second round games.
The first half initiated very well as both teams were prepared to give their all. United needed the points in order to keep up with the title chase while Mhluzi wanted nothing but some sweet revenge after their loss to United in the first round. Both teams had fair chances in the early minutes of the game hence they both had the same thing in mind, which is scoring as many goals as possible in the first half. Out of all the chances United was the fortunate side to have scored an early goal after a cross that had Manyike scoring an opening goal giving united a 1-0 lead. A goal radically changes the mood of the game and this was evident following both side seeking for more scoring chances and Mhluzi being more defensive in hand with their goalkeeper doing a great job.
Mhluzi failed to convert in the first half and went on to the second stanza down by a goal to nil. 1-0 is a very stressful lead, united knew they had to find another goal for them to relax and they also had to be defensively solid to deny Mhluzi an equalizer. Zolani’s well taken corner got ‘Zulu’ at a perfect position as he scored and gave united a 2-0 lead. At this point of the game you could have concluded that united will win however the game of football is unpredictable and full of wonders. Sinethemba ‘Nsimbi’ was brought down in the box by a defender and the referee pointed a penalty which was well taken by ‘Nsimbi’ and made it 3-0 for united in the late minutes of the game. Sinethemba’s goal was the last goal of the match as united triumphed 3-0.
Joy was filled within mbombela’s side; this meant a lot for them especially with the race title on their neck. United boys were very happy with their side’s performance especially after their second round hardships but now they look at it as history like South Africans look at apartheid. United will play Foreck Academy FC over the weekend while Mhluzi will host Tjakastaad Junior Sheppards.
